This one-day training explores working with clients with high levels of shame. We know that many people who have experienced disappointing or distressing relationships with their attachment figures, go on to carry a legacy of shame. This workshop addresses how to use the therapeutic alliance and the EFIT interventions to create safety in our therapeutic space and to create powerful moments of change and growth for our most shame-prone clients.

This course examines how EFFT honours the different relationships that exist between the parent and child, as well as within the romantic relationship. We will demonstrate our work with video tape examples, and offer experiential exercises designed to help participants immerse themselves in the experience of stepfamily development.

This prerecorded course provides an overview of EFT with individuals, couples and families. It introduces the EFT model and the power of EFT to facilitate healing and growth for personal and relational distress through a combination of teaching, and video demos. Completion of Fundamentals is now an ICEEFT requirement for EFT clinicians applying for Certification as Supervisors in EFT.

Through a combination of lectures, videotape, observation of live interviews, and exercises, participants will learn to identify the basic stages and steps of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and to help clients recognize and de-escalate problematic cycles of interaction. Participants will also learn to help couples create or restore the emotional bond between them once the negative cycle is understood and interrupted.

The Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy® is an immersive four-day (24+ hour) training experience, foundational for therapists aiming to specialize in EFCT. This training offers a comprehensive introduction to the EFCT model, focusing on the science of attachment and the systematic approach to couple therapy. It's the first step in formal EFT training on the path to advanced practice and certification.

Core Skills 1: Dec 4-6, 2025

EFT Core Skills Training offers an in-depth opportunity to strengthen the core skills of EFT practice through the EFT Tango framework. Each session focuses on specific steps and interventions: 1 covers Stage One (steps 1–2), 2 covers Stage One (steps 3–4), 3 covers Stage Two (steps 5–7 for the withdrawer), and 4 covers Stage Two (steps 5–7 for the pursuer). Participants receive feedback on their own client videos, required for certification.

Neurodiversity can help couples bond and can intensify negative cycles which lead to disconnection. This workshop presents an opportunity to understand how to practice Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples where one or more partners are neurodivergent. The workshop will include a variety of neurodiversity including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia and will approach neurodiversity from a affirming lens.

Take your EFT skills to a new level with Core skills (CS).  The training consists of four, two-day trainings (12 hours each total 48 hours) that will focus on the core skills of each of the EFT Tango moves and steps/stages. The trainings will offer instruction, experiential exercises and case consultations. More experiential practice of EFT will depend your skills as you feel it more and more in your body.
