EFCT Core Skills Training presents a set of four, two-day workshops and is designed to follow the EFCT Externship. Core Skills offers an in-depth opportunity to develop the skills essential to the practice of EFCT. Each segment includes instruction, role play, observation of video, and consultation. In this training, we will be discussing, showing, demonstrating, and generally exploring EFCT with a focus on LGBTQ+ relationships.

The EFT Externship is the first step toward EFT Certification, and it is required that you participate in an Externship before attending Core Skills. Space is limited, so sign up early. This Externship will be taught by Debi Scimeca-Diaz and is hosted by Mid-Michigan EFT, a Not-For-Profit Organization run by EFT-trained volunteers who are working to expand awareness of EFT in Mid-Michigan and to create opportunities for EFT therapists to connect.

Based on the EFIT and trauma course developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, this training demonstrates how EFIT is applied to heal horrific trauma experienced by a Cantonese speaking Chinese trauma survivor. Crucial elements include facing her abusive and neglectful parents who are deceased, working through her deep shame and self hatred, stabilization of fearful avoid attachment with dyadic co-regulation and secure attachment with her therapist.

Based on the EFIT and Trauma course developed by Drs. Sue Johnson and Leanne Campbell with actual EFIT session videos of a Cantonese speaking single mother coping with the traumatic loss of her only son. Reviews the attachment perspective on the impact of trauma, EFIT goals, stages and interventions. Demonstrates tuning in, maintaining focus and working with trauma through the EFIT stages. No pre-requisites required.

EFIT Essentials is an amalgamation of the previous Level 1 and Level 2 EFIT trainings, now offered as a seamless learning experience. The training is structured to provide a solid foundation and an advanced understanding of the EFIT model, embedded within an attachment science framework. A blend of theory, video review, and experiential exercises will equip participants to apply the model. CE credits are available for an additional cost of $40.

We know that so many people who have experienced disappointing, neglectful, or distressing relationships with their attachment figures, especially in their formative years, go on to carry a legacy of shame and even a fragmented sense of self.

This workshop will provide an overview of the research and theoretical models of adult attachment from the perspective of injuries to attachment bonds in romantic relationships. Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy 4-day Online Externship: 7, 8, 14 & 15 March 2025, from 8am to 5pm SAST.

The Four Day EFT Externship is the most comprehensive and basic level of training and education in EFT, taught by an ICEEFT registered trainer. An externship includes observation of live interviews, presentations of theory and clinical techniques, skills training exercises and discussion of specific cases, clinical material and issues.

This training revises the concepts of EFIT focusing on real-world case examples and experiential exercises to deepen participants’ mastery of the EFIT model. This is a 3-day in-person Core Skills Training with ICEEFT trainer James Hawkins, PhD, hosted by EFTMA at Bentley University Conference Center, Waltham, MA. The Externship in EFCT is the first step in becoming an ICEEFT Certified EFT Couple Therapist. It provides the theoretical underpinnings of the EFT model, the evidence-base for EFCT, the 3 stages and 9 steps of the EFCT model (the EFT road map), a comprehensive overview of the key EFT therapist interventions including the EFT Tango, as well as video demonstrations, small-group activities and a live demonstration of an EFCT session.

EFFT Essentials training consolidates the previous Level 1 and Level 2 trainings into a comprehensive 24hr program. This training provides a thorough understanding of the EFFT model within an attachment science framework. Through theoretical instruction and experiential exercises, participants are guided to apply the model to families, aiding their development into proficient EFFT therapists.

This one-day training builds upon the Essentials of EFIT course (24hrs) and will review the EFIT interventions, such as the EFT Tango, as well as micro-interventions, in the context of working with clients with high levels of shame. This workshop addresses how to use the therapeutic alliance and the EFIT interventions to create safety in our therapeutic space and to create powerful moments of change and growth for our most shame-prone clients.
