This externship in EFCT contains didactic teaching about the theoretical underpinnings of the EFT model, the evidence-base for EFCT, the 3 stages and 9 steps of the EFCT model (the EFT road map), a comprehensive overview of the key EFT therapist interventions including the EFT Tango, as well as video demonstrations, small-group activities, and where possible, a live demonstration of an EFCT client session.

Clare has a focus on diversity and inclusion in her training. This means that while covering all of the required content for an Externship in EFCT, this externship looks at applying the EFT model to monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, as well as staying sensitive to cultural context and the impact of minority stress on relational dynamics.

Fundamentals of EFT is a standalone one day online introductory course to all 3 EFT modalities - EFT for Individual (EFIT), EFT for Couple (EFCT) and EFT for Family (EFFT). The course provides an outline of EFT, underpinned by attachment science for healing through emotional connection. Attendees will learn through didactic presentations including EFT TANGO. The four-day EFT Externship Training is the first level of training in the Emotionally Focused Couples therapy model. Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFT is the most widely researched of all the couples models and has been empirically proven to be the most effective model of couples therapy over an extended period of time.

Dr Jenny Fitzgerald (Australia) and Professor Elmien Leach (South Africa) are collaborating again to offer EFT Core Skills online. Dates are August 30th and 31st and September 6th and 7th. Time 2.30pm to 9.30 pm AEST.

EFCT Core Skills Training presents a set of four, two-day workshops and is designed to follow the EFCT Externship. Core Skills offers an in-depth opportunity to develop the skills essential to the practice of EFCT. Each segment includes instruction, role play, observation of video, and consultation. In this training, we will be discussing, showing, demonstrating, and generally exploring EFCT with a focus on LGBTQ+ relationships.

The EFT Externship is the first step toward EFT Certification, and it is required that you participate in an Externship before attending Core Skills. Space is limited, so sign up early. This Externship will be taught by Debi Scimeca-Diaz and is hosted by Mid-Michigan EFT, a Not-For-Profit Organization run by EFT-trained volunteers who are working to expand awareness of EFT in Mid-Michigan and to create opportunities for EFT therapists to connect.
