This training was specifically crafted in response to the needs expressed by mental health practitioners like yourselves. Designed by Sue Johnson and adapted by our team, this course aims to streamline the teaching process, saving both time and resources. While some aspects of traditional training may have been adjusted, the essence remains intact, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Our Core Skills of EFT offers therapists supportive opportunities for direct, hands ­on learning of the EFCT approach in a safe, positive, and fun environment. In this small group environment, you will learn the EFT model, the steps, stages, and interventions through experiential exercises, role-plays and video review. We practice how to facilitate new couple conversations to increase the feelings of secure attachment, closeness, and connection.

This is the first half of Core Skills Advanced Training with James Hawkins, hosted by Alaska EFT. This first half will be December 13-15, 2024 and the second will be February 27-March 1, 2025. Both trainings will be held in Anchorage, Alaska.

Join EFT Trainers Silvina Irwin and Michael Barnett in the Advanced Core Skills Series online! We will be joined by an excellent training team to support your learning along the way. This is a highly experiential training and is tailored to bring the concepts of EFT alive.

Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) Core Skills Training presents a set of four, two-day workshops and is designed to follow the EFT Externship. Core Skills offers an in-depth opportunity to develop the skills essential to the practice of EFT. Each segment includes instruction, role play, observation of video, and consultation.

Core Skills provides intensive training in the theory and practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy. It is a small group experience designed to provide didactic instruction with experiential practice. Core Skills training takes place over two 4-day, for total of 48 hours.

Each two-day session is dedicated to specific steps of client change in the EFT model and the therapeutic tasks and interventions needed to facilitate those steps. The first two modules focus on Stage 1, helping clients access and own their emotional experience in a pattern with the other. The second two modules focus on Stage 2 encounters with deeper levels of exploration, creating corrective emotional experiences that create lasting change.

Limited spaces are available, so early registration is encouraged to secure your spot!
Core Skills 1 & 2: January 22-24, 2025, 9 am to 5 pm. This session will cover Stage One of EFT, including assessment and alliance, the cycle, and de-escalation.
Core Skills 3 & 4: April 21-23, 2025, 9 am to 5 pm. This session will cover Stage Two of EFT, including withdrawer re-engagement and pursuer softening.

Online Core Skills is a 48 hr training that over a 4-6 months. It consists of four, two-day trainings (12 hours each) that will focus on the core skills of each of the EFT steps/stages and Tango moves. The trainings will offer instruction, experiential exercises and case consultations. Core Skills training is the best way to deepen your EFT skills with couples and is a requirement for certification.

Clare has a focus on diversity and inclusion in her training. This means that this training looks at applying the EFCT model to monogamous couples and non-monogamous relationships, as well as staying sensitive to cultural context and the impact of minority stress on relational dynamics.

This four-day (24hr) course revises and deepens therapists' understanding of the EFCT model and the interventions used to achieve the three change events identified by process research that move loving relationships from insecurity to security. It includes case presentations, video demonstrations, and experiential exercises, as well as providing practical resources for therapists to use with their clients.
