This four-day workshop presents the theory and practice of emotionally focused couples therapy.
The workshop consists of didactic teaching, observation of live sessions, and experiential learning
through role playing, videotape viewing and transcript analysis. Participants receive copies of
pertinent literature and transcripts.

Experienced EFCT coaches participate in this training throughout all 4 modules and make this an even more incredible learning experience.

This training involves 2 morning and 2 afternoon sessions of 3 to 4 hours each. Each session is designed for a small group of participants to deepen and refine skills used in the EFCT model, and includes instruction, experiential exercises, video examples and case discussion.

Step into the world of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with our immersive 3-day Externship. You do not need to be bilingual to attend this externship. The main training will be offered in English but there will be opportunities to practice EFT in Spanish in bilingual (Spanish) practice groups.

The EFCT Standard Core Skills training is a 4 day immersion training (24 hours) in the theory and practice of EFT. It serves as the second (and final) course in the pathway to become a Certified EFCT Therapist.
Participants can opt for this 24-hour option as part of their EFCT Certification requirements.

EFCT Core Skills Training presents a set of four, two-day workshops and is designed to follow the EFCT Externship. Core Skills offers an in-depth opportunity to develop the skills essential to the practice of EFCT. Each segment includes instruction, role play, observation of video, and consultation In this training, we will be discussing, showing, demonstrating, and generally exploring EFCT with a focus on LGBTQ+ relationships.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy externship is the major entry point to gain a basic understanding of the EFT theory and clinical techniques of working with couples. Dr. Guillory is the author of the Trailblazing book "Emotionally Focused Therapy with African American Couples.” Dr. Guillory is internationally known for dynamically integrating cultural & multicultural clinical factors into the heart of EFT training.

The Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy® is an immersive four-day (24+ hour) training experience, foundational for therapists aiming to specialize in EFCT. This training offers a comprehensive introduction to the EFCT model, focusing on the science of attachment and the systematic approach to couple therapy. It's the first step in formal EFT training on the path to advanced practice and certification.

Join Dr. Sam Jinich for Core Skills training in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Core Skills give a “deeper dive” into each stage, step, and intervention that make up an “Emotionally Focused” approach to couples therapy. The first weekend of Core Skills covers Stage 1, the second weekend Stage 2 and working with attachment Injuries. Modules 1 & 2: 9/19/2025 – 9/21/2025. Modules 3 & 4: 1/9/2026 – 1/11/2026

Core Skills training consists of four, two-day trainings (11 hours each) that will focus on the core skills of each of the EFT steps/stages. The training will offer instruction, live case consultations, group supervision and experiential exercises as set forth by the ICEEFT. Participants are required to have completed an EFT externship. Core Skills training can be applied towards certification.

Join Montana EFT, September 23rd-26th, in beautiful Missoula, Montana, for this in person, 4 day Externship with trainers, George Faller and Ryan Rana. This is the foundational course in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and will immerse participants in the EFCT model through didactic teaching, experiential learning through role plays, and observing a live session conducted by the trainer.

The Externship in EFCT is the first step in becoming an ICEEFT Certified EFT Couple Therapist. It provides the theoretical underpinnings of the EFT model, the evidence-base for EFCT, the 3 stages and 9 steps of the EFCT model (the EFT road map), a comprehensive overview of the key EFT therapist interventions including the EFT Tango, as well as video demonstrations, small-group activities and a live demonstration of an EFCT session.
