This is the workshop for you if you are fairly new to working with clients who identify as lesbian, gay, transgender, or queer, or any other related identity. You want to offer LGBTQ+ affirmative EFT and know there is a lot you don’t know. We invite people of all identities, cisheterosexual and LGBTQ+.

Have you experienced the dilemma of helping couples achieve greater emotional connection through EFT, and yet found that this does not always translate directly into greater sexual desire, contact and flexibility between the partners?
This workshop will present a frame for understanding that dilemma, and offer approaches for more fully integrating sexual concerns into our EFT work.

Clients bring ambivalence to therapy in different ways. For example, they may not comply with treatment, they may blame the therapist unreasonably, or they may not agree on therapy goals or the future of their relationships. Typical EFT process and intervention may lead to more uncertainty, frustration, or hopelessness. In this workshop, participants will learn to distill ambivalence through an attachment lens.

This is a 6-hour online EFIT Special Topic course designed to equip therapists with the tools and insights needed to support clients experiencing depression effectively. Grounded in the Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) framework, the course examines depression from an attachment perspective, offering practical strategies to address its emotional and relational impacts.

Workshop Level Two/”Continuing with”: ‘Continuing with EFT and LGBTQ+ clients – stress, resilience and joy’

The Workshop have focus on the Tango in step 3 & 4. We start with an introduction and a short theory reminder of the Tango and the steps. A recorded livesession Will be watched, from the beginning to the end, where I work with a couple at an Externship, also online. We Will after that have reflections in small groups, and then in the large group for an ending.

This workshop will provide an overview of the research and theoretical models of adult attachment from the perspective of injuries to attachment bonds in romantic relationships. Time will be spent on defining ruptures to trust as a result of broken agreements between partners and on how these ruptures can be healed using EFCT.

This 2 Day online experiential EFT training will review what you need to know to treat couples who present with significant amounts of shame using EFT Emotionally Focused Therapy. Through the application of the EFT model and interventions, we will help therapists identify and work with shame and the emotions it binds to. This three-day course aims to provide advanced emotionally focused therapists with specialized training in two crucial areas: working with vulnerability and managing reactivity in a clinical setting. The course will equip therapists with advanced techniques for managing reactivity, enabling them to navigate intense emotional responses and maintain therapeutic progress effectively.

Not all affairs are alike, and the healing process can vary depending on affair dynamics and motivations. This workshop outlines 7 different types of affairs based on motivations for affairs, which is key in learning how to help end affairs and prevent future affairs. Using video demonstration, discussion and exercises, participants will learn how to understand, treat, and bring healing to couple relationships who have been impacted by affairs.

This 2-day in-person master class hosted by EFTMA at Bentley University Conference Center, Waltham, MA. will focus on blocks we encounter throughout the EFT Tango. Interruptions, exits, defensiveness, getting stuck in content, blaming, wall of words and more. Therapist blocks too! Learn from ICEEFT trainer James Hawkins, aka Doc Hawk, who will lead us through exercises, role plays and his own ways of staying centered when faced with blocks.

The Fighting For Connection master class offers a mini roadmap that can be inserted in the larger EFT map for therapy. We will meet on Zoom and utilize break-out rooms for practice and small group work. Ideally participants will have completed a basic training in EFT or read basic works. ​​​​Participants will receive articles before the workshop to familiarize themselves with the basic concepts of the workshop. 10 AM-5:30 PM Eastern Time

This workshop addresses how to use the therapeutic alliance and the EFIT interventions to create safety in our therapeutic space and to create powerful moments of change and growth for our most shame-prone clients.
